The Giver Empty The Giver

Jonas and his family live in a utopia world. ((meaning a world which is perfect with no problems.))
His family consists of his mother, father, and Lily whom is a Nine. When someone turns nine, there's a ceremony for all the Nine's in the community. There all born the same day. So, there's the ceremony of the one's, two's, three's, four's, five's, six's, seven's, eight's, nine's, ten's, eleven's, and finally the twelve's. When every Twelve in the community turn twelve, they get their assignment. ((Their job.)) The society has lost all contact with family and love. Children are born to designated "Birthmothers" and then family unit's can apply for children. All the land near the Community and around the other, similar communities clustered about the nearby river has been flattened to aid agriculture and transportation. All animals have been removed (more than likely killed, although they do have meat from unknown sources) including the fish in the water, and they are only present as stuffed animals; but the society has no understanding of what they are, believing them to be simple non-existent objects (the word animal is used to describe a foolish person, with no understanding of the connection between the two). A vaguely described system of weather control is used so that the weather remains constant. It is implied that genetic engineering has been used extensively to manipulate human beings so that they are all colorblind, and physically conform with Sameness. They even have the same color eyes, as Jonas is seen as different because of his light colored eyes. The only noted exception to physical Sameness is people like Fiona who the Giver notes as having red hair. It is never explained how people in the community are able to identify each other. Jonas awaits for the Ceremony of Twelve's. He awaits to find out his assignment..

RULE'S OF THE COMMUNITY:

-All Nine's must have their hair ribbons neatly done up.
-You receive your bike at the Ceremony of Nine's. You may not ride them before.
-No airplanes may fly over the community, unless granted permission.

Roles:

Jonas – Is an Eleven who later becomes a Twelve. He becomes the next Receiver of Memory in his community. He has a sister, Lily, and a mother and a father:
The Giver – The most important person in the community. He can experience pain, love, and sees color, while no one else can. His daughter, Rosemary, was the one selected to be the Receiver ten years before Jonas was selected:
Lily – A Seven who later becomes an Eight. She is Jonas' sister. She "loves" children:
Gabriel (Gabe) – A baby. When he becomes a One, he is given an additional year to be properly nurtured. Jonas' father and family unit take care of him sometimes. He has pale eyes like Jonas'. He was scheduled to be Released:
Asher – Jonas's best friend; an Eleven, then a Twelve. Asher is a carefree, happy boy. He is assigned to be the Assistant Director of Recreation:
Jonas's father – A Nurturer. He cares a lot about Gabe, so he manages to give him an extra year to develop properly. He takes care of the new-children during the day. A shy and quiet man who is responsible for the physical and emotional needs of new-children:
Jonas's mother – A judge who works for the department of justice:
Fiona – an Eleven, then a Twelve; one of Jonas' friends. She is assigned Caretaker of the Old. She appears in Jonas' dream that begins his Stirring: Me/Haylee
