Perfect Weapon

"Mornin" he mumbled back to her, opening the fridge for the milk and grabbing the Cheerios box. He poured it carefully, still half asleep, before grabbing his coffee and taking a huge gulp. In all honesty, he didn't know what he was going to do today. {Probably make up yet another list of everyone who'd been killed. Oriana made his stomach do a funny little twist.

Sol grabbed a cup of coffee and strode over to her laptop. She needed to get a program to keep the computer safe. And she needed to look up that number. Where was her cell phone? When she had a program downloading, she jumped up and went into her room for her phone. Sol searched through it for the number. She then sat back down and set her computer on her lap.

"Do we have any paper?" Rune asked, "Like notebook paper?" He said, because this way he'd be able to keep those notes instead of typing them on a computer and having to delete.

"I think there's some on the coffee table," Sol said as she brought up the text message on her phone. She started to type in the number on the computer and clicked search. A few results popped up but only one stood out to her.

"Kay," he said, now searching for a pen. "Do we have a pen?" He asked, "I'm going retro."

"Check the counter." She said as she leaned closer to the screen. "I think I found the mystery texter." She read the name several times in her head. Why did it seem so familiar?

"Yeah, who?" Rune asked, snatching the pen and beginning his list as he sat on the floor,leaning against the couch.

Suddenly she remembered why the name sounded so familiar. "Um...I think we'd better pay my sister a visit because this is her boyfriend. Tristan Christopher." Sol let out a long sigh and leaned her head back. Great, she thought.

"The blonde sister?" Rune asked, "I remember her boyfriend. He was an a$$." He shook the the pen, which was running out of ink.

"Yes the blonde sister. She dyed it red, though." Sol said. "Tristan is horrible. He used to treat me like crap whenever he saw me. No wonder he's so mean through texts."

"She was jealous of your pretty red hair?" Rune said, glancing up to smile at Sol, but still writing down a few more names, "We can visit them today, and we'll get your number changed later, how bout that?"

"I think so," Sol said with a smile. "Sounds good to me."

"They don't live very far away, do they?" Rune said, standing up and abandoning the notebook paper, "Just about 10 minutes, right?"

Sol nodded. "Yep. It has been quite a while since I saw her. She'll probably wonder why I never visit."

"Tell her it's cause she lives with her a$shole of a boyfriend," Rune said, "Because that's probably true." He threw the pen onto the coffee table and stared ruefully at the blue ink stains on his hand. "I'll drive." He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "It'll be okay," he told her, ruffling her hair and throwing her a grin.

"Of course it will. You'll be there." Sol said and returned the smile.

He chuckled and continued down to his bedroom to find his jacket. "I'll drive," he called over his shoulder.

"Okay," she said and stood to stretch. She grabbed her hoodie off the back of the chair and slipped it on.

He picked up the keys and his jacket, choosing not to put it on, and grabbing and pulling on his sneakers. "Ready?" He asked, holding open the door.

She nodded. "Yup." she said, putting her cell phone in her pocket. "Let's go see the lovely couple."

"I really don't want to see Tristan," Rune, heading down the stairs, "Last time I saw him, he tried to kill me, remember?"

"I remember." Sol said, following him. "That was a stupid thing for him to do. He isn't very smart."

"I punched his nose. Your sister got MAD." Rune said, starting the car. "I should probably not do that again."

"That would be a good idea. Besides, our visit wouldn't go over very well if something like that were to happen." she said.

"Isn't it already not going to go well if we're accusing him of sending you threatening emails?" Rune asked, backing out of the driveway.
